Into the hands of every individual is given a marvelous power for good or evil- the silent, unconscious, unseen influence of his life. This is simply the constant radiation of what man really is, not what he pretends to be. ~ William George Jordan

December 2014

Well... I'm up for another update! I've missed a few events, so let's see if I can catch up now :)

A few weeks ago I had a friend from Germany come and visit!!! She is leaving in less than a month to go on her mission in England! it was so fun having her around, even if we only had the nighttimes to do stuff! We were able to go to the temple, get some good food, and shop for some things for her mission!

Me, Kels, and Alise

My MTC companion is getting married in just a few weeks and so I was able to go to her Bridal Shower and see some friends from the mission as well!
Chadiee (the bride to be), me, Emily, and Kels
I also got my Hair colored and really loved how it turned out! I really like going a bit darker in the winter time, so it's way fun! :) Thanks again Kenz!

Then it was time for Thanksgiving!! It was small this year, just my parents and I, but it was still a lot of fun! We were able to see "Catching Fire" hunger games movie and I really enjoyed it! But then again, i've read all the books and enjoyed those too! It was a lot of fun! Then we had our delicious lunch/dinner of Roast Beast, yams, green beans, rolls, jello, and much much more! :) Mom made Pumpkin roll and it was delicious! :) Then later, Kenzie and Matt and the kids came over and it was fun to see them too!

Later Kenzie, mom and I all went out for Black Friday/thursday shopping and we didn't find a whole lot... but we found some better deals the next morning and just had a lot of fun shopping all together!

Talon needed a new shirt to wear, so Mom found this while digging through the old clothes! haha! I guess this is why you keep things around for about 20 years!

Got this cool shot the other morning. I just loving being able to see so many sunrises and snowy mountains!

It's the little things at work that make your day. "He not live here. thank you."

I also got nominated to decorate the tree at work this year! Not too shabby if i say so myself! It's about a 14 1/2 foot tree, so I had a few helpers up top since I wouldn't go that high! :)
This past weekend we hit a Christkindlmarkt in SLC at the "This is the Place" monument! I had been looking forward to it all week and I joked about seeing President Uchtdorf there.  As we were walking along I realized that President Uchtdorf was standing about 3 ft away and I got all nervous and tongue tied and I couldn't think in german or english! Luckily dad was brave and got his attention and basically put President Uchtdorf's hand in mine and we talked in german for a little while!! It was so neat! I really didn't care what we did the rest of the day, I was on cloud 9! :) He is such a kind man.  I could really tell that the gospel is just who he is. He doesn't have to go into public and put on his "Good face" he is just that way!

We even saw some Reindeer!!

Afterwards mom and dad were nice enough to take me to Siegfrieds and eat some real german food!! It was SO good!! I'm always wanting Schnitzel and Spaetzle, and it made it a real german day for me! It was so nice, since sometimes, I just really miss being there! Especially at this time of year!

Then we headed over to Temple Square and met Kenzie and Matt and the kids! It was so fun to watch the kids just love being there! And it wasn't freezing, so that was really nice too!

The flash was really bright for talon :)

The very next day I got invited to go to the 1st Presidency devotional with a friend! I don't think i've been that close ever! It was so neat to just see their faces and to just be in the same room with our dear Prophet Thomas S. Monson :)

I am always grateful for this time of year where we have to reflect and focus on our Savior Jesus Christ.  I am so grateful for my family and for the blessings each and everyone of them are in my life! I am so grateful to be home this year for Christmas and I am grateful for all of the experiences I had on my mission! It's so bitter/sweet to be so far from so many people that I love! I can't wait to go back and visit them all one day! I am grateful for the spirit and direction I receive for my life!

School will be starting on January 5th and I'm getting nervous! And excited!! I can't wait to experience college and try and figure out my hectic life! :) It will be fun and challenging to figure out how to manage everything with working and going to school FULL TIME. haha! Wish me luck!
