Into the hands of every individual is given a marvelous power for good or evil- the silent, unconscious, unseen influence of his life. This is simply the constant radiation of what man really is, not what he pretends to be. ~ William George Jordan

Alpine- German Speaking Mission

Yep. That's really what it's called. I've had so many people ask.. are you just going to alpine ut? nope...Germany, Switzerland, and Austria actually. Then the reaction is always great after that! :)
Sometimes, even though it's been a whole 4 days since I've received my call, it still doesn't seem real. I keep reminding myself that I leave in 101 days. (They gave us a website that has a countdown and all of this cool preparation stuff to do- so no, i'm not already counting down, it's just that they have!) My BFF Rachel got her call to San Jose California!! She leaves December 19th and she is so ecstatic!! She leaves almost a whole 50 days before me. Of course, we won't be in the MTC together, and I won't see her for a little while, but I'm so excited for both of our adventures!
Mom and I decided to go shopping for a while yesterday to see what was out there. I keep going over my lists of what I need and well, lets just say, its a lot. A lot of things, and Money. We searched through two malls and finally ended up at the sister missionary mall in Orem. I tried on some shoes there called Danskos. Oh goodness. they are hideous. ahha! I'm sorry, I know that they don't really matter, because they are super comfortable, but seriously?? They just aren't good looking. seriously. look them up online. You'll know what I'm' talking about. hahah! Anyways, it was good to see some Idea's, they had an umbrella that i'm interested in and a Kangaroo pouch (for my Visa and Passport- I have to have it on me at all times, so it is a holder to put around me.) I also met a girl who teaches German at the MTC there! She was just buying some clothes there, and one of the workers asked where I got called and she turned around and we talked for a minute! It was way neat. She is actually from Germany and I wasn't even thinking, but I should've asked her lots of questions, oh well. haha! So after the most unsuccessful shopping trip of my life. We headed home, to go look online at things and prices. Everything was pretty much the same. Expensive. haha! But I did make some purchases. Take a look:

These are Danskos. I tried them on at the store and I was almost the biggest size that they had!! These are the best ones I've found so far. They really were super comfortable, I can see why people liked them. And these were something I could handle I guess :) Jk. I don't think they look that bad!

And I decided on this Wool Coat with Polyester lining. We got a super great deal on it and I think it's super cute!! I really liked it in Yellow, but- I decided to go for the black, since I'm not supposed to be too colorful! haha!
So, so far, so good I think. I still have a long list of Needs that I started making yesterday so I wouldn't forget, but I know everything will work out and I'm so excited for this adventure I will be taking!!
Thanks again to my family for being there for me on Wed!! I'm sorry it was so super crazy with all of the different Internet signals going everywhere, Sometimes I didn't know where to look, it was so nice have Jason and Mandy and the kids over- thank you for taking time out of your busy wed to come and be there for me! I loved seeing you all and I loved getting to talk with all of you too!! I've decided Family really is the best thing in life! I love you all! :)
